I've had a MBP for about a year now; my first Mac. Now that I know the basics, it has become my primary home computer. So, I'm ready to get an external HD to run the first Time Machine backup. Now I've pretty much decided on the Seagate Free Agent Go or one of the WD Passports but what capacity? How to I prepare? How do I create an NTFS partition for a small amount of Windows stuff - say 60 GB worth. Also, I saw somewhere, that you can put the contents of the OSX startup disk on this external HD so that you can boot from it if necessary. Yall are the experts. My computer specs are below. (Advice for a Mac Dummy and I mean stupid too) Macbook Pro 15.4" Processor Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz 200 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 5400 rpm RAM 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM PC2-5300 NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT PCI Express x16 GDDR3 SDRAM - 256 MB
