Powerbook Resolution?

I have been looking for a 15" powerbook G4 1.67 ghz to buy and I saw one on ebay that said 1440 x 960 resolution. But I also saw one on another Mac forum and the guy said the resolution was 1280 x 854, but all the same other stats. Is there a resolution difference in the upgraded model or something? I am confused with that. (Am new to Macs :eek:neye: )

Thanks,

You are correct that it's because of an upgraded model. Basically, the last revision 15" powerbook (it was the last one because the intel macbook pro has replaced it) recieved an upgrade to the display (and other little things) but the processor speed was not changed. Here is some info from apple-history.com:

Introduced in October 2005, the PowerBook G4 (DL-SD) would be the last Apple portable machine to carry the PowerBook name, and was an odd upgrade: though it included faster RAM, higher screen resolution, and a dual layer SuperDrive, the processor speed was left alone, most likely because a faster G4 processor would have run too hot. The PowerBook G4 (DL-SD) was available in two configurations: the 15.2" model was $1999 and the 17.1" model was $2499. The 12.1" model was not upgraded. The 15.2" model was discontinued in February 2006, following the release of the intel-based MacBook Pro.
