Powerbook G4 suddenly freezes and asks to force restart

I donwloaded the last mac osx system update and several problems appeared. This update has renewed iCal, Mail etc. First iCal lost all events and tasks, completly dissapear. Then the powerbook begin to crash constantly, asking to force quit (elegantly asked in different languages) pushing for several seconds the power button. Any ideas or help to fix these?

sounds like the update did you more pain than good.

i would suggest doing an archive and install of os x. this might be an extreme solution though and some other people might have better options.

the update is causing a kernel panic. so outside of repairing disc permissions and archive and install...
