The 2nd url says install disk 3 is missing? Any answer about the button on optical drive? [it's missing]like if it is safe to leave in?

Disc sets which contain 1,2,and maybe 3 are NOT retail install discs. They are the silver grey system discs and will not work. Again and again please buy the BLACK RETAIL DVD.

Harry, the URLs I gave them are Black DVDs. On Tiger I bought Retail I never used any 3RD DVD to install.

To the OP on the missing Eject button. This is on the optical drive right? Apple does NOT use any Eject buttons. It's all software controlled and no Eject button is needed.

Frustrating as I have the exact model still in workable state under my wife's desk next to mine… but haven't booted it in some time…

The four CD set here were released for education model eMacs which came with the cheaper CD drive, not even the Combo, to save money for schools bulk purchasing.

To confuse things totally, there was this set, the retail DVD, and a special set for 'Intel models'.

I just thought I'd check and mention and I have a special black Mac OS X Tiger CD Retail four disk set here that Apple released for users under special requests or to Authorized Apple Repair Dealers.

It's a black set of four CD disks and marked:
Mac OS X Tiger
Version 10.4.3
2Z691-5601-A

So they sure did and still do exist.

Yes they did exist and still do used. I almost got the CD set for all my older macs but never did.

Got everyone's messages on that set..someone should post that info on ebay & out that scam. My problem is $..need a cheaper deal as still need keyboard & may need parts for G4..so I'm still looking. Thanks for all the help.

Post any URL before you purchase so we can check for you that you are getting the right DVD.
