Please help me dual-boot Ubuntu and Yosemite

I have tried this guide https://shkspr.mobi/blog/2014/11/ubuntu-on-a-macbookpro-82-running-yosemite/ , but failed.
Now, I have rEFInd installed and I am unable to remove rEFInd completely. Although i have deleted the other ubuntu partitions.

You have to format and restart your computer now from the beginning see refind is not a apple boot efi but a custom one and in order to remove it you have to format the hard drive and start again because refinds boot efi is now locked onto the hard drives boot sector and you have to reformat to get rid of it.

Now to help you with dual booting ubuntu.

Simple go to:

https://www.virtualbox.org

and download virtual box and install virtual box and install ubuntu in a virtual machine it works better and you can then drag files music and other things out of your virtual machine into your mac and you don't have to deal with the this drive cannot be read error message you will receive everytime mac os x starts up because it doesn't like linux partitions
