Planning to upgrade my 5.1 MacPro using OpenCore Legacy Patcher and have USB query

Hi - I'm planning on using OCLP to upgrade my mid-2010 MacPro 5.1 (with upgraded metal graphics card) and I am wondering about the issue regarding legacy USB1.1 as mentioned on their site. Elsewhere I have been advised to install a mains-powered USB 2 hub and that should take care of my keyboard and mouse. Can I install a PCIe USB hub instead of an external desktop one?

I went through a very similar process with my 3.1 the other day. Ended up using an old unpowered USB 2.0 hub that I had sitting around and it works just fine for mouse and keyboard. Installed Sonoma and I am very pleasantly surprised by the performance. Feels much snappier and much more responsive than the Mojave install that I was running previously.
