Picasa back up from Windows 7 to Mac

I recently backed up all my photos with Picasa using my PC dektop windows 7 to EX hard drive I now have a new Imac desktop can i Re-install to the mac from Ext hard drive as it was backed up using different op system?

I'm not sure how Picasa backs up photos, but if it's just the jpg images that are backed up, then all you need to do is copy them to your new Mac and let the iPhoto application handle them. There is also a version of Picasa for the Mac in case you would like to continue using it instead of iPhoto.
