I don’t know if this a Bonafide inquiry for this forum nor do I know where to post it.

For many years I used Photoshop Elements to create slide shows and videos with music on DVD. The iMac I used for these projects was an antique so a while back I purchased a brand-new iMac. This made many of my programs obsolete including PSE. I am now searching for a replacement, and it is a daunting experience.

If appropriate I would appreciate any suggestions

Thank you

You can purchase the latest version of Photoshop Elements, compatible with your new Mac, from the Mac App Store. it is a free download, but you have only a week to use the app for free. It is $100 for a three year license:

There are alternatives that are cheaper, and even some that are free. But none are as easy to use as Photoshop Elements. So I doubt that you would be happy with them.

Pixelmator will give you everything that Elements gives, but is fairly cheap - about £50 for a permanent licence?

Please pardon my ignorqance but I need further information. With my original PSE I imported photos, videos, music, created titles, etc then burned the project to DVD Does the latest PSE or Pixelmator still have thise features?

If by 'import' you mean get the app to open media documents, any graphics app will do that. However, I've never heard of a purely graphics program that will import/open music files?

Pixelmator certainly has Layers and Text so you could still create titles.

Please expand!!!!
Poor delivery on my part. I appreciated @poppi's reply, and had read some self-deprecating humour into it. I thought I'd ribbed him a bit on it, but perhaps didn't think my reply through enough. Is that what you mean?

The meaning:

imbecile /ĭm′bə-sĭl, -səl/

noun

  1. A person who is considered foolish or stupid.
  2. A person of moderate to severe mental retardation having a mental age of from three to seven years and generally being capable of some degree of communication and performance of simple tasks under supervision. The term belongs to a classification system no longer in use and is now considered offensive.
  3. One destitute of strength; esp., one of feeble mind; -- sometimes used as a pejorative term.

Was this what you considered the post, or poster to be!! was what I wanted you to expand on.

Did you miss that in the previous post, by Poppi, the poster had misspelled imbecile (referring to himself) as "ombicile?" Typically, when someone self-corrects a previous post where there was an error, it's done by posting just the correction. Big Byte did that as a joke, and you took it wrong. Give it up.
