Hi All! I’m pretty geeky. I have several Time Machine and other backup SSD’s, all Samsung T5 or T7 drives including the lateral stealth. I recently setup my Mac as new and reloaded everything. And I erased and reset most of my external drives. Everything was working but suddenly my external SSD drives don’t accept the passwords … my 2 Time Machine drives were locked. I erased, and redid the TM backup. Then disconnected the drives and reconnected so I could have the pw saved in the keychain. But the drives wouldn’t accept the password … the password was wrong … but it wasn’t (I copy and paste from1pw where I same them). I redid the erase a few times and finally they accepted my pw. But my other external drives. That are encrypted I can’t access either. This is super weird and I’m scratching my head. I did have a weird thing happen in the winter where if I typed in T7 in keychain the keychain would crash. Apple support eventually told My my keychain was corrupt and we rest it. That seemed to fix the crashing problem. But now that T7 crashing problem is back. So I reset my login keychain … fixed that crashing problem but that didn’t change my SSDs not accepting my pw. The probs seem to be related .. but the pw for the externals are not sorted in keychain. Any ideas? Thanks! Matty
