After upgrading to Panther OS I cannot ping by name
to any other system. I can ping by address. I checked
my network settings and I do have my dns server
listed. I can ping it via number but not name. My
Windows machines are fine. I have tried setting the
Mac to DHCP and it still will not ping by name.
It gets a IP address but no DNS settings
The DNS server is my Windows server. I can ping the
DNS sever by IP address but not by name. All of my
Windows machines are fine and can ping by name or IP
address. I have reset both systems. mac and Windows.
Same results. This all started since I upgraded to
Pather. Before the upgrade I was able to resolve any
system by name.
I have tried both static and DHCP on the mac and
still not able to resolve by name.
Any ideas?
