Hi guys I'd first like to thank people in advance for their time. Anyway last August I dropped 1200 dollars on a brand new Macbook Pro and things were semi great untill recently. It's been slowing up alot and the pinwheel keeps showing up left and right, it's getting really annoying. And then just last week I got a message about a panic attack and my macbook told me I had to restart the comp, so I did that and it worked fine untill today when it crashed again. Now it's back up and running fine again but what gives? I saved the crash reports and can post the whole thing if needed. But here's the first part of the most recent one...

What were you doing when it went into kernel panic? Looks like it may have something to do with Google Chrome... were you using Chrome when it happened?

Kernel panics can occur because of bad software or hardware.

Regards.

Um browsing the web with Chrome, I had a tab open for youtube and had some music playing and then a tab or two of text that I was reading. Maybe Itunes was open? Both crashes have happened with Chrome open though

Typically, that last line is where to look.

You might contact the support team at bluecoat - assume you are running their K9 web protection software? Should be a known issue with them and it could be that Chrome does not play nice with it.

Reports I've seen, they're not responding all that well though. Think I'd remove it since it's still in beta for Snow Leopard anyway. (System Preferences - K9 Web Protection - Uninstall K9)

I agree with bobtomay, sounds like google chrome causing your problems. I'd start by removing that and see if it persists.

Personally easy fix. Just use Safari. Only thing I use chrome on is Windows cause windows exploder does just that. lol!
