OS X Virus?

Some kids at my school were telling me there was a nasty os x virius out. He stated that it "Would rip the hard drive apart". I've looked around for this in detail; saw some stuff about a malware; but nothing of this extent. OPinions? [I go to an IT school]

Funny. "Rip the hard drive apart," that's a good one.

There is a new trojan out there, forgot the name. But, like the other2-3 trojans out there, it requires intervention by an admin user with physical access to be installed.

I thought I had a virus last week!!! Turned out I had just left some food on a plate on my computer...man that was not a nice smell to come home to.
