Hey everyone - 1st post here! I'm going to be purchasing a new Mac Mini when they arrive (next week maybe?) and was wondering if I could run Mountain Lion instead of Mavericks or Yosemite?

The reason I want to do this is because I am running Pro Tools 10 as my recording software and I would have to upgrade to Pro Tools 11 which is another $300. Also, some of my plugins are not supported in Pro Tools 11 and I really need those!

Thanks in advance!

Short answer: no.

Macs can't run anything earlier than the original OS they shipped with.

Use the money to upgrade your Pro Tools and plug-ins first, then get a new Mac mini later.
