OS X 10.4 Tiger -- DVD to CD

I have a Power Mac 7600/120 with MacOS 9.1. I would like to put OS X on it. The problem is, I only have a DVD of Tiger, and a CD-ROM drive in the computer.

I run Linux and Windows, but can't get the Tiger CD to mount in either OS. (I assume Linux is a better way to go than Windows, but I'm not sure.)

Thanks in advance.

You are not going to be able to load ANY version of OS X, let alone Tiger on that machine.
You need at least a G3 machine for OS X.
