OS Upgrade Mucked Up Resolution

Hi, I've had my macbook pro about a year but still feel like a switcher for a while yet.

The other night the update bounce happened and I duly set it going and left it alone. However now the display, previously crisp and clean, has gone way off quality wise. I have poked around in the SP tab, and tried to recalibrate the screen and basically seem to be getting nowhere.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you open "System Preferences", "Displays", and check to see if you were still set at the native resolution for your MBP? What may have happened is that the resolution was changed during the update. You may need to reset it back.

Since you didn't mention which update it was, nor which year model MBP you have, that's about all I can suggest for now.

If "Mactracker" is giving me the correct information, your resolution should be set at 1440 x 900 for best results. That's for the internal display of course. Any external monitor attached would have its own native resolution which usually can be found in the monitor tech specs or user manual.
