OS 10.1 or OS 10.2

I had installed OS X 10.1 on my bondi bleu imac and it ran just fine, now I upgraded to 10.2.6 but man is it slow now. Is there really such a big difference between the two ? I think I wil go back to 10.1 goes it was very usuable.

I was reading that amount of RAM makes a lot of difference for OSX... it might not be relevant for your upgrade question but your 96MB is really not a lot for OSX...
