My wife is probably gonna get p'd off.. I ordered me a new BenQ 32" Pro Graphics Monitor last night. hehe.. It wasn't cheap, but it did cost less then a 27" Apple display. Here is a link to it on BenQ's website..

Thought it would make a great companion to my Mac Mini, which is still plenty powerful enough to keep me going for another 2 to 3 years.. However I will be upping the RAM from 8 to 16GB in a few months. I had considered getting the new 5k iMac, but think I will schedule my upgrade for the Mac Pro that follows after the next refresh (the one coming after the next refresh, i.e. 2 new models aways). One reason I am in no hurry is that Adobe Lightroom still does not utilize a GPU, unlike Photoshop that does. But even the HD4000 iGPU in my current Mac Mini is enough for what I do in Ps to keep it running good. I am hoping by the time I do upgrade in about 2 to 2 1/2 years, that I will be using and pushing Final Cut harder making videos that will justify it. Which I am sure it will. I plan on moving to 4k video by then, slowly stepping into that now with some Time-Lapse videos. So the dual FirePro video cards in the Mac Pro will make FCP shine.. :D

That's a real nice monitor and BenQ is known for its high quality. How are you going to get it to you in the Philippines though? May take a while if it's coming by sea mail. I know you can't afford to have that baby shipped via Air Mail. Unless you were able to buy one locally?

Looks like a pretty nifty monitor for $699!:) Same resolution as the Apple 27" monitor…but at 32"…things will be just a little bit larger…thus easier on the eyes.:) I saw that it also pivots…which is pretty darn neat for such a large monitor. The OSD (On Screen Controller) is different & interesting as well.:)

Funny (via the link) how they show three of these babies side by side for the ULTIMATE in screen real estate!!!;)

Congrats on the purchase!:)

Thanks, I am having it sent here from the states via sea cargo. So I will not see it for 3 months, but at least I know it will arrive and is much cheaper on shipping.
Added a new Bluetooth Logitech KB and Mouse also to the set.. Should all match and look very nice.. I hope.. LOL..
Going to have my uncle test the monitor before shipping it though, just incase I need to return it. But the screen in this is the same screen in the comparable Samsung display. Just $100 cheaper and actually has more features and IMHO looks better with my Mac.

Funny fact.. When you send something cross country via truck, van or plane. Its a SHIPment.
When you send something via a boat across the ocean, its CARgo.. LOL
Okay, that wasn't super funny.. I am just out of jokes today.. :p

are you going with a triple monitor layout then Joe or just use your one new larger one?

and what if you send a car across the ocean by ship?

Going back to one single display.

The Samsung displays I got now are 23" and at 1080p, its just to small for me. I have an older 27" 1080p display that is perfect for reading, but its not color accurate and over time its developed a yellowish tinge. Think that happened from being near the kitchen in our old apartment back in the states. I wanted more screen real-estate and a true color accurate monitor that was large enough to be easier on my eyes. So I was looking at this display and one by Samsung, both have the same screen made by AOC. But this one had the looks and features I wanted, plus was little cheaper to boot. But this display is 100% sRGB accurate and designed for graphics and photo work. Being that its 2560 x 1440 @ 32", it should be easy to read and give me the screen real-estate I want. Right now reading my eMagazines on Zino is a pain with my current displays.. I have to keep zooming in when I find something interesting I want to read, then zoom out to flip to another page. Takes the fun out of it.. LOL..

And what if I ship my car across the ocean? LOL IDK.. Thats a good question.. I know I would be called "broke" with the Philippines 150% import tax.. LOL
