Hi

I was wondering what are the decent operating temperature for Macbook. Last night, I was doing some music file conversion (WMA > MP3) and the temperature went as high as 80C for the CPU. Heatsinks were at around 60-85 range. Is this too high range or is this normal. If not, what should be the normal operatig ranges.

Thanks :)

You are just fine. There really is no need to constantly measure and monitor the temperature. If it ever hit a temp that was unsafe for the system, it would shut down before something negative happened.

You can also find some info here:

My G4 PowerBook reaches that when playing Halo, or using iLife, or doing other heavy stuff

Don't worry.
