27" versus 21.5"

I am assuming that the installation is the same for a 21.5" model vs 27"?

Not really sure but if you contact OWC i'm sure they will tell you.
They have been very helpful to me in the past.
Also, they have a turnkey programme where they will do the work for you.

It's possible but very difficult because the temperature sensor device and hard drive that's present in your 2012 iMac is proprietary. However, OWC (Mac Sales) has come up with a device that overcomes the temperature sensor problem. You need to contact them.

Also, removing the front panel on a 2012 and 2013 iMac is a difficult procedure. The panel is not held in place by magnets as the older models were. It's very easy to cause damage trying to remove that panel. My advice is to have the work done professionally.
