I just wondered if it was something I have done with my settings or if it is something the admins have changed?

I found the OP Avatars a welcome assist on following threads and just curious if they will be coming back or have I done something in my own settings to cause their disappearance?

I thought earlier it was just one single thread where it was occurring but it seems to be all threads I have checked now.

I would certainly love to see them back if it was a site change. 😉

I don't see the OP banner either. I haven't changed any settings, if anybody asks.

You are not understanding the problem correctly.

It is only the member who starts a topic thread that replies to that thread and their Avatar for that particular reply post used to have the white watermarked 'OT' Avatar applied to that particular post or any other post or not thread other than their first #1 post.

I hope that clarifies the situation a bit better as to which Avatar is especially marked.

It's back now for me. It is, for example, now showing on your post, Patrick.

EDIT: to be clear, it's on your latest post, not on the original post in this thread. Don't know if that is by design or not, but the banner is definitely on #4 in this thread.

Strange happenings, unfortunately it's not showing for me, at least not so far on this message thread. My avatar is just the normal one with my reply and no designation as the original poster OP.

Maybe things will change later.

Maybe log out and then log back in?

Thanks for your suggestion Bob, but I had tried several Restarts and even the complete shutdown and reboot but no change. Still no OP avatars showing with any of their thread replies they had started.

That also produces the same result, ie: just a normal non-OP Avatar without the white OP watermark on their Avatar when they have added a post to their original message/posting.

Thanks anyway for the additional suggestion.

I hope the admins will add the feature back into use for us members that aren't getting it added.

It is working for me. The only time I am not seeing the white banner is the very first post the OP makes in the thread. After that the banner appears as expected. I thought I had seen a few threads recently where the banner appeared on the first post but apparently not.

I even looked through my account settings and I don't see an obvious setting that might have accidentally turned that off.

Ah. Yes, I now see your avatar with an OP banner through it, but only next to your replies.

Thanks for the reply and yes, that is how it used to work when it was working it is working for some and not for some others including myself.

It seems a bit strange that it would very for different members.

Did you reset the browser? Clear History? Try a different browser? Try a different macOS?
Is it a Setting/Preference for the site?

Thanks for your suggestions Bob, the proper OP-Avatar is showing properly in Chromium Legacy, Firefox even Safari but still not so in Google Chrome I cleared most data history another settings earlier and even tried it again. So there's something hung up with Google Chrome on my iMac it seems.
I don't think there's a setting for it in any of the browsers at least not that I have seen or found.

So for now it will remain as an unknown cause with my iMac running Google Chrome.

But interestingly, the OP-Avatar that showing correctly on my other browsers is much smaller and off in the corner more than it used to be:
(this is a partial screenshot using Firefox and chromium Legacy and Safari are the same.)

Thanks for the help.

My thanks to those who replied was suggestions to fix this particular problem I seem to be having with the Forum but it seems to have rectified itself for the most part with most threads showing a proper OP-Avatar for any OP's replies to their original post. Oddly enough this particular thread is not working as I would have expected.

I have no idea what might have changed the actions back to working properly but I have a suspicion it may be due to AddBlockPlus, but I can't be positive.

Anyway 90%+ of posts seem to be showing the correct way now:

It will be interesting to see what happens to my own avatar when I post to this thread as none of the previous posts of mine correct OP Avatar designation.

Anyway, it's certainly not the end of the world as far as Forum discussions and Mac problems go. 😉 just a small annoyance of something not working the way it is expected to.
