One Mac and two iPhones - questions on accounts

iMac 27" 3.2Ghz, 1TB LaCie external Drive
I've had my iPhone set up on our iMac and a couple of days I bought the wife a new iPhone. We currently use a shared account for the iMac: would it be simpler to create a separate account on the iMac for my wife to use for her iPhone?

Having just started to use a second iPhone, there is no need for separate accounts. When you plug in your wife's iPhone you can set up iTunes to sync it in the way that she wants; ie, different music from iTunes, here own choice of pictures from iPhoto, and so on.
