I've been using my white Macbook for 3 years now and this problem just started a few day s ago:

When I move an item to the trash, it does not go in. Rather, it shows a message:
"Are you sure you want to delete such and such?
This item will be deleted immediately. You can't undo this action."

Usually when I do this the item would go into the trash and I can move them out of the trash if I want to as long as I don't empty it. I can no longer do this.

Can anyone help me?

Are these files on your Mac's hard disk, a network volume, or an external volume?

Files on some types of volumes can't be moved to the Trash.
