I have an old iMac late 2006. I tried to upgrade the memory-the old was 2 GB Transcend 667 Sodimm CL5 RAM. I put 2x2 GB Transcend 667 Sodimm CL5 RAM. When I press the power button, the power led lights up, I hear the fan and the hard drive working, but the display stays dark, no sound,no chime, no boot. What it could be? May the RAM slots be defective, I press the memory good in the slots. It does not work with one memory stick too. The PCs have a CMOS battery that can be removed an placed again to reset the BIOS, how is on the Mac?I tried with different sticks-Samsung, Hynix , no sucess, but with these brands the LED was blinking-maybe incompatible.
