Safari is just getting better and better. I never thought I would be saying this but since the recent update which includes DuckDuckGo as an optional search engine (who'd of thought it) I'm almost a convert.

Almost a convert to what?? I see lots of Apple equipment in your profile...so it can't be a conversion to Apple/Mac!;)

Are you talking a convert to Safari? If so...what are you currently using/converting from?

Ah, Safari, first word in the sentence! I have been an almost exclusive Chrome user in the past. :Smirk:

Safari Faster?

As stated in this thread I have started using Safari again after a hiatus of several years and I am finding it surprisingly fast compared to Chrome. Is it just me or has Safari just improved out of sight since the last time I used it? I am using most of the same extensions with Safari that I use with Chrome, Adblock etc. Time for a change?

I've always preferred Safari over Chrome for a variety of reasons, starting with privacy.

Yes I agree but I switched to Chrome in 2008 when it was a lightweight browser and Safari was a piece of crap. Never really went back I suppose. But I wouldn't want to be a stick in the mud, everything deserves a revisit from time to time and this time i'm impressed.:)

Google is just a short time away from releasing their 64 bit version of Chrome for the Mac and Windows. We'll see how it compares to Safari then.

Ooh, ok that will be an interesting comparison. In the mean time I'm enjoying reacquainting myself with Safari. I have found it doesn't pay to get locked into what you know just because it's what you know. I recently started using Airmail Beta, previously using Airmail 1.4.1 it's such an improvement and accepts iCloud 2 step verification as well.

I just tried and it looks like they changed the reload when going back a page... I could be dropping Firefox in favour of Safari...

Just downloaded the 64 bit Beta of Chrome, now we will see how it shapes up against Safari.
