OK. I just got my 3rd macbook pro (check here for backstory- http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69226 )

And I can't get on the internet. I use wirelss ALL THE TIME when I'm back in Boston but in my home in NY the my mbp will pick up my house wireless internet and tell me signal strength is great but i cant surf the web or do anything web related (instant messaging etc.)

What the ****? It's not my wireless because I've tried different locations in the house and all the other (PCs) are on the internet using the same wireless network. I do however get on when I use an ethernet cable straight from the router but this is NOT an acceptable solution.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I am in the same boat..but I am trying to connect to my PDA's internet connection as I don't have WIFI capabilities in my home...even when I plug in my verizon DSL to the MBP it won't work =(..and like you said..even if it did, it's not an option..I need to be mobile...can NOT figure out why the blutooth on the PDA isn't being picked up...it keeps saying there is some kind of modem error.

What router? What security? WEP? WPA? WPA2? Are you sure you are entering the Key correctly? If WEP did you select the proper type of key?

What happens when you run the Network Diagnostics? (It should appear in Safari whenever you can't connect to the internet.)
