Hi all

I really wanted to take a long time before i went on any Mac forums for help but i find myself here a lot sooner than expected

I've just got my first Mac (Mac Mini Intel 2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo with 2 GB 1067 MHz ram)

I have a Microsoft wireless mouse which i was using on my Microsoft pc quite happily for the last 5 years but it just wont point properly on the Mac

It is driving me crazy; sometimes it takes 4-5 clicks on things to work and it just doesn't track properly i.e. it is just not precise at all. I have changed the tracking speed to max in system preferences as i like a fast mouse

Any ideas? Or does it mean i have to buy an expensive Apple mouse?

I also found the set up of one of my printers totally frustrating too, but that's another story

I should point out i am pretty clued up on computers, i did program them for a living for a while, Microsoft though

Any help would be so much appreciated because at the moment i am just not impressed, and i so wanted to like my new Mac

Thanks
Nina

Don't you think that 5 years is enough for your poor MS rodent? Why not retire the MS mouse and buy another wireless mouse? It does not necessarily have to be an Apple mouse. Logitech makes some very nice inexpensive wireless mice that should pair easily with your new Mini.

However, when it comes to a wireless keyboard for your Mini, I absolutely recommend an Apple model. They work best.

Hi Nina

Do share your worries with us and do use the Search facility on Mac Forums because most "teething troubles" have been discussed and sorted out before.

Using a Mac in any format should be a rewarding experience and we are here to help people achieve that if we can.
