I decided to invest in a MacbookPro, noticing their popularity with everyone else and pleased with their record of quality products. Ive noticed some things about this machine though that arnt quite what I expected. First, has it been the case with anybody else that once you shut off the machine properly and let it sit for a while, it will not turn back on without being plugged in because there is no battery left? (But the battery will be fine if it just sleeps for days) Also, does the computer seem especially slow to anyone when trying to accomplish simple tasks, like navigate the dashboard? Has there also been any issues of responsiveness from the touch pad? If anyone has any input on this Id appreciate it greatly. Thanks.

Your Mac's Specs
Mac Book Pro, 1.83 GHz, 1.5 gigs RAM, 80 GB, AND NO HEAT ISSUES!!
the first time i open dashboard after starting up, i takes a little longer than usual, but that's it. I havn't had any of the other problems you described, but it could be that the light on the button that opens up the computer uses the battery life (?). Good luck with your problems!
