Hey all...small announcement. Some new smiley's have been added for use in posts.:)

Most are animated smiley's...a few are static. Smiley's can definitely add little spice to a post...and let others know what sort of emotion or mood you mean to convey in a post that text-only doesn't always communicate well.

Here's a sample for your viewing pleasure:

:2thumbsup :computeanger2 :lolsign :sleeping :thinking

Love these.

If I grab a hammer and emulate one of those emojis would that convince SWMBO that I need a new computer?:sick

The new emojis appear to have caused a problem. Now, every instance of the word "c*mpute" (I've substituted the asterisk to stop it occurring) is being displayed as an animated emoji. Oh dear...

That happened in my post obviously but I assumed that I had done something to trigger it.

It's a bit surprising, I must admit. Usually the code for an emoji requires something like being wrapped in colons, but this one appears to be a bit of a rogue emoji. A fine example of the fun and games can be seen in this post here (click the link to see the effect).

Where do I find these new emoji's?

For anyone who doesn't know...you can find the smiley's/emoji's in the:

* New post composition window.
* Click on the 3 dots.
* Click on the "Smilies" button.

How/when can I use these new emojis in Apple Mail?
Not sure I understand.

Mac-Forums is a website on the internet running specialized forum software...Apple Mail is a application on a computer/phone/tablet. Not the same.

I was hoping I could copy one of these fro the forum software, and paste it into a mail message I will be sending using Apple Mail on my Mac Mini.

Ok I see. Try dragging from Mac-Forums to your email. I just tried it from Mac-Forums into a browser tab with Gmail open & it worked. I didn't test with Apple Mail.

Nick

p.s. This works with some Mac-Forums smilies...some do not.
