2.26, 2GB ,
Two months old.
I've been using macs for a couple of years now so not entirely a newby to them but my latest 'baby' is having a few hiccups. It runs fine for an hour or so, then gradually slows up. Whichever browser or application I'm using starts to freeze.. spinning beach ball can take form a few seconds to perma spin needing shut down via the power button as nothing will force quit. If I leave the mac for 30 mins and start it up again, it's ok for a few hours before it starts again.

It doesn't feel particularly hot (not compared with my old macbook which is scorching!) but that's the only thing I can think of. Rang apple who advised me to reset PRAM etc... hasn't helped.

Any suggestions welcomed as I live some distance from any Apple store!!
Thanks!

To the OP:

Freezing can be caused by software or hardware (not a surprise there) but generally, it's hardware. I would suspect either a graphics processor problem or bad memory.

However, since you stated the machine is new, the obvious answer is to take it on in to Apple and let them resolve it. Call them first to make an appointment.

Regards.

Thanks.. I am going to take it in to Apple tomorrow:( I can make a bet it won't play up while I'm there so I'm planning on leaving it on for the journey..hopefully a few hours left on will help it show the problem! (Taking my iphone too as thats playing up..they will love me!!)
