Hi! I recently got a new Macbook Pro 13 inch. I spilled some coffee on the older one and it broke down useless. The hilarious thing was, that the maintenance would have costed like 2000 bucks, and it's like the price of a new 15 inch Macbook Pro. So thanks to insurance, I got a new even better version, at least when you compare the increase of "power" on the Intel Chip, and oh yeah, the keyboard is now lighted!. And now it even has Firewire and SD-card slot.

So anyways, in the older model I upgraded the ram to 4Gt, and I was wondering that, since it's basically the same computer, does the same RAM apply to this newer model? Is there any way to find this out, since the ram blocks don't tell me anything useful.

Thanks

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
Welcome to Mac Forums, and congrats on the new MBP.
Even though I suspect they will be the same, go to OWC and put in the specs of your new machine in "My OWC" tab selecting the Ram upgrade option, and then go back and do it for your old one, and it will tell you what Ram you can use for each of them.

Yeah, I suspected that too. Anyways I took a "risk" and took out the 4Gt Ram out of my broken Mac, and installed it to the updated version, and it actually worked! I guess there isn't really that much difference between the older, and the newer model, just the connections. It was kinda strange, that the older version didn't say Pro at all. Even thought it was also aluminium, like the rest of the Pro-family.

Anyways, thanks for the help.

Your "older" one was not a pro. It was a MacBook. I have the same one except mine is the 2.4 model. Apple produced a 13" aluminum MacBook right before the 13" pro's. Same basic specs except they lacked FireWire And card slot. Apple then got the hint that people would buy these instead of the pro's and changed it up... And we now have the current lineup!
