New Mac User...

Hello Everyone

Just thought i'd introduce myself..

My name is Christopher, im a studet at the University Of Lincoln, Hull Campus (UK) currently studying Interactive Multimedia BA(Hons).

I have finally made the switch! well, more of an addition than a complete switch, but im a new MAC'er non the less!

I have bought an iBook G4 with the following spec:

• 512MB DDR266 SDRAM
• 30GB Ultra ATA drive
• DVD/CD-RW
• Bluetooth Module
• AirPort Extreme Card
• Keyboard & Mac OS
• 1.2GHz PowerPC G4
• 12.1-inch TFT display
• Two USB ports
• One FireWire port
• Power Adapter
• Battery

I'm hoping to get fluent in the MAC OS as my course involves alot of work on Power Mac G5's and similar equipment.

So i hope to start posting soon once my Mac has been delivered

Meanwhile has anyone any hints/tips for me when i do get my iBook?

If I were you, I would start with learning keyboard shortcuts. I got tried of using the trackpad on my iBook, because sometimes it is not very convenient all the time. For example, closing all windows, dragging stuff into the trash bin, making a new folder, it’s faster to use keyboard shortcuts with these tasks.

if thats a used ibook, and it comes with the panther cds, I suggest doing an erase and install before anything, to make sure you get a clean startt.
