I am a new user converting from Windows. When using safari, if I want to save a picture that is shown on the screen, how can I save that to my Iphoto?

When I was using windows, I would right click and save as, how do I do this using my new imac?

Thanks,
Paul.

Several options:

a) Place your mouse over the image, press the ctrl key and then click with the mouse. (If you hook up a windows style mouse with 2 buttons you can just right-click instead).
You'll get a bunch of options, one of which is 'add to iPhoto library'.

b) click and drag the image from Safari straight onto your iPhoto library icon in the iPhoto window.

This is easy to do with exposé: Open safari & iPhoto, then click drag the image in safari, press F9 to show all windows with exposé, hover over the iPhoto window to select it and then drop onto the library icon when the cursor turns into a '+' sign,

You can do the right click with a two button mouse (same as Windows) or simply click and drag the image off the page to your desktop. From there you can drop it onto you iPhoto icon in the Dock or Ctrl-click (right-click) your image and choose iPhoto to open it.
:)

Lol :batman:

No it's not, I'd recommend using a 2-button mouse though as the ctrl-click thing is a bit odd to get used to at first...

And always remember to see if drag and drop works...

You can drag n drop pretty much anything in OS X... files onto application icons, images into text dialogues, text onto the desktop...

Give yourself a few weeks and you'll be right at home!
