I've just changing from the PC world and I'm leaning my way around the Mac. I have a basic question, how do I get the page that I'm viewing to be full size? Right now my pages are covering about 1/2 of the screen.
I am also noticing that if I view a page for about 1/2 a minute and don't touch the pad that the screen reduces the bright level to about 50%
I'm planning on taking some course work to assist in the transition.
Thanks for your assistance from a 68 years of age new guy.

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
Welcome to Mac Forums Jerry.
For full page, for any app that you are using, just drag out the bottom right corner of the page, and then each time you open that app, it will open to the size that you dragged it to last.
This goes for the finder window too!
As for the screen going dim, this is in your settings.
Go to system preferences>energy saving and uncheck in battery "slightly dim screen when using this power source.
Post back with any questions that you have.
I also highly recommend having a look at Apple - Support - Mac 101 and Apple - Mac tutorials.
Regards
Kane

Edit:
to drag out the corner of a page, hold the mouse pointer over the corner in this diagram and holding the mouse button (track pad button) down, scroll to the far right bottom corner of your screen. :)

I would download third party software that will help you with resizing.

I personally use better touch tool because it lets me utilize my trackpad, my mouse and there are resizing options such as the Snap feature in Windows 7.

Wouldn't it perhaps be best to let the OP learn the basics before heading that way alexsd?

+1 for that suggestion. Besides it's a good way to avoid the problems when some of the programs bork up the guts of the OS.

Kane and others-Thanks

Hi Kane++,
Thanks for the help and the recommendation to use the Apple Tutorials.
I'm really enjoying the move to MBP and the Mac approach.
This is also my first notebook and I'm trying stay away from using a mouse and learn a new system.
Again,Thanks to all.
Regards, Jerry
