Anyone interested in dual pane file managers may wish to know that the initial beta of the new Forklift dual pane file manager has been released. I have been watching it for some time, waiting for the release, as it includes a seamless FTP client as well - you can point one of the two panes at an FTP site and then interact with the FTP site as if it was simply a directory on your disk. I have always loved this approach to FTP.
Anyway, if you are interested, check out:

I have downloaded it, installed it and tried it out. So far I haven't found any bugs, despite the beta status. Quite a nice job. BTW, I am not associated with the developers at all, just very interested in dual pane file managers.
