Hello,
issue: trouble with network assistant on MAC network assistant with message:
The application Network assistant has unexpectedly quit
I am trying to have internet again on this old IMAC G3 with operating system 10.3.9.
I run fiber optic here,
The same network cable works is fine in another box (pc linux )
In preference/ network / network status show bar you can see a green button beside the <built in ethernet card>
with detail:< Built in Ethernet is currently active and has the IP Address 192.168.2.0. You are connected to the internet via built in ethernet. >
in the preferences /network group/ network status, when you click configure, here are the configuration
menu tcp/ip : configure ipv4 : using dhcp
menu ethernet: configure automatically.
I run dynamic ip address. no static ip is available.
in the same menu, when you are using the button assist me. or simply change a different menu to change,
the computer will find the connection how? in assist me I select the last one: < I connect to my local area network lan>
the problem is after. NEW CHANGE WILL NOT SAVE, and I will get the error: < The application network assistant has unexpectedly quit.>
Apple support team will not help has stated: IMAC G3 are not supported.
I did try to remove network extension .plist in the library, hopping it will generate a new one. still not working.
I do have 3 disc panther 10.3.0 (1-2), but because I have 10.3.9, imac cd rom will spit it out , unable to read. The C key press down at startup has same issue. Internet Network Provider state a unsupported software issue.
In the path Path: /System/Library/CoreServices/Network Setup Assistant.app/Contents/MacOS/Network Setup Assistant I see 3 files:
Network setup assistant crash.log
network setup extension
network setup scripting.
So I need help with the mac community too:
1) decipher the bug report and find solution
2)in disk utility, I had no luck there, What do I do if startup disk won't start
3)I try to mount iso file from the internet with no success. I dot not have cd rom burner
4)bringing it to a apple store, would be too costly. They don't have disk, mac support won't help them.
5) I try to create another user. same issue.
how to reset network assistant so it will not quit on me, when trying to save new change.
How to reinstall network assistant without loosing everything, Can I delete or rename a file so it will reset
Can I contact you in SKYPE, how?

I do have 3 disc panther 10.3.0 (1-2), but because I have 10.3.9, imac cd rom will spit it out , unable to read. The C key press down at startup has same issue. Internet Network Provider state a unsupported software issue.
In the path Path: /System/Library/CoreServices/Network Setup Assistant.app/Contents/MacOS/Network Setup Assistant I see 3 files:

So I need help with the mac community too:
1) decipher the bug report and find solution
2)in disk utility, I had no luck there, What do I do if startup disk won't start
3)I try to mount iso file from the internet with no success. I dot not have cd rom burner
4)bringing it to a apple store, would be too costly. They don't have disk, mac support won't help them.
5) I try to create another user. same issue.
how to reset network assistant so it will not quit on me, when trying to save new change.
How to reinstall network assistant without loosing everything, Can I delete or rename a file so it will reset
