Need new ibook power adapter? What to get?

I just picked up a used G4 ibook 1ghz from a friend and need a new power adapter. Can someone reccomend one to me? It has the 45 watt one but that one seems to get red hot. Would it be better to use the 65 watt one? I had heard the one Apple sells does not last too long.

The ones from Apple have always lasted and worked for me. I suggest either picking one up from them or trying eBay again for one. Just get the one that was designed for the laptop and you will be fine. Otherwise you risk damaging the laptop you just got.

I've purchased two now from Macally. About half the price of the Apple AC adapter, but it doesn't have the charging light ring on the plug. I can live with that.

I bought the second from Macally not because the first one died, I have them in different places in my house so I plug in w/out dragging the adapter around.

I recently bought the macally one for my mum... seems to work fine, it was a lot cheaper than the apple one too!

The retail powersupply for iBooks and PowerBooks comes only in 65W version anyway.
