I'm pretty sure I had Mcafee antivirus or virus scan 8.6. I've uninstalled it following the procedures, typing my password into Terminal when it asked for it. After I did this, the icon on the menubar went from the "M" to an M with an exclamation point and when I click it, it states "Your mac is at risk." I assume this means it was uninstalled, but I can't drag and get rid of the Mcafee icon on the menubar. This is so annoying. Is it fully uninstalled? Can anyone help me? I think this is destroying my computer and making it run EXTREMELY SLOW!!!
THANKS!

if you followed the procedures, do a Spotlight search to seek out any remaining McAfee preferences and such.

You're pretty sure? That is, you don't know if that link in the menu bar is for McAfee or not?

Followed what procedures?

You used the McAfee uninstaller?

If not, I would re-install and then use the uninstaller provided by McAfee.
