my apple pro mouse just...stopped working. i tried plugging it into every USB port on my mac but nothing works. I think maybe the wire inside the cord may have broken or something, i can see where there is some wear from the cord bending where it enters the mouse.

Do you think this is something that apple would fix or replace if i took it in? i mean, i paid 60 bucks for this mouse and i would like it to work for more than a year or 2. any advice would be great.

Apple Pro Mice... Those are the ones with the black inside, right? Very rare, supposed to be excellent.

It may be be because of the cord fraying. Take a look at this: http://www.sewardweb.com/applepromouse/

i dont know about rare, but yes they are excellent mice, when they work anyways. thanks for the link, but it looks a little complicated for someone like myself. if anyone else knows of anything i could do, please let me know.

also, for those of you who have the apple cordless bluetooth mouse...
how do they work and hows the battery life? i was considering just buying one of those to replace this one that broke.

I know I know, Microsoft isn't any good, but...... Just recently I was looking for a wireless mouse with left and rigth click and a scroll wheel(both of which I love to have)and i found the perfect mouse that is compatible with MAC™ here is the specs pagehttp://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/productdetails.aspx?pid=002

so if u need a good mouse you should AT LEAST look at this one

P.S. I have had mine for about 7 months now and my whole family
Loves it. ;)

Well maybe if you call apple, they'll replace it under warranty.

Just be a little hazy & vague on when you bought it , chances are they will just be generous and replace it...

For once I agree with Abs... Logitech does make awesome mice, although Apple's still my first choice.

But if Apple won't replace it, get a Logitech mouse, they rock.

I just ordered UniMouse (Contour Designs) , it is plain wired USB mouse but it is considered as one of the best mouse for Mac.

I will post my review at a later date.

For what its worth (probably not much, but hey!) I had my Pro Keyboard totally die on me without warning last week.

It came with my (secondhand) iMac and, while not in perfect condition, was working perfectly right up until it decided to give up. By my estimation it would have been up to two years old - so, if its the same vintage as your mouse, perhaps there was a design fault round about that time? Unlikely, but you never know

Unfortunately I just had to bite the bullet and buy a new Pro keyboard - although I'm not complaining as its lovely! :mac:
