My @mac.com account?

So if I dont purchase a year of .mac when my trial runs out, am I no longer alowwed to use my e-mail address?

If I can still use the account, id appreciate an explanation of how.

Once a trial membership expires, we can't continue to hold onto your online data, other than your ID. The iDisk storage, web pages, screensavers, shared photo albums, and iCal calendars for your .Mac trial account are no longer accessible. Mail sent to your mac.com email address will be bounced back to the sender.

Gutted.. Just through the Application was nice to use..

Looked at a tutorial to use my Hotmail account with Mail.app but apparently the newer accounts need to be upgraded to Hotmail +, and thats £16.. Ill just stick with hotmail on the web

gmail all the way! i hate hotmail, too much spam. gmail is much better, and all the crap is usually filtered!


if only there was an option to have ONLY the @mac.com address, and not to have additional sync and other options, which are rather useless to me.

gmail works very well with Mail. I agree, I like it much better than Hotmail.

I lost my .mac address too because I didn't need the other things. I did like the address though, just not the cost.
