DFU ?? not sure of that acronym as my touch has never given me trouble.
Have you done a hard reset ??

Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for about ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Is the only help i can give you .. Sorry mate and good luck.

Might be time to take it to the geniuses

And have you done the reset from when hooked into iTunes ??
If so and still have problem ... Mate im all out of suggestions :(

As above it might be something for the geniuses

Is this a jailbroken touch?? If so, you may try to do a restore in iTunes using Apple firmware.

Well, the 5,000,000 other times I tried restoring through iTunes it didn't work, until it finally suggested trying a different computer, and lo and behold, thanks to my brother, it works again. Thanks to all of you for trying to help. :)
