Late 2009 MacBook laptop (all-white edition) 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo w/ 4Gb of RAM and a 500 GB HD
Hi.....I have a late 2008 MacBook (the all-white edition) running Yosemite OS X 10.10.2 (Intel Core 2 Duo). I have 2 GB's of RAM (and will be getting more, soon) and a 2.26 GHz processor. Some of my apps (the ones that came with the operating system) will not open anymore (TextEdit, Preview, iPhoto, etc...). Also, the computer is preventing me from opening the 'App Store', which is preventing me from doing any software upgrades. This all happened at once, and wasn't a gradually progressing chain of events. My web browsers work fine (Safari, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome), although all I ever used was Safari. I need your help in figuring out what is wrong. Thank you, all.

Think it is time for an erase of the hard ddrive and a clean install. Did you copy Yosemite to a thumb drive before running the installer by any chance?

@ harryb2448 -- thank you for your response. ....... I tried-out many other ideas I had, to get those Apps working again, but everything I tried, failed. ....... So yes, I re-installed OS X 10.10 and now everything is working great again. ....... Sorry for my delayed response to your post, and thank you again... :)

Nice to see a solution and a fix that worked, even if it is a month to the day later. ;)
