I'm not quite sure why you would think that

Very cool technology... but definitely not.

If apple finally released the MacTablet Pro or whatever a mac tablet pc would be called then, yeah, of course they would use the multitouch interface. But I don't think they'd bother adding it to the MacBooks.

I agree, it would make sense on a tablet, but not a regular notebook.

Same concept as the iPhone touch screen

WOW... that Presentation is great. Its a really interesting technology I'd love to try it out first hand.

Kinda why I miss NYC. Jeff Han in that Video above mentioned that his lap is in NYU back in New York and I used to work with NYU and Cornell universities through my Job a lot, more in the Medical Field but I'd come to interact with some great folks like that.

Isn't Jobs' manipultations on the iPhone, using his thumb and forefinger, reminiscent of this, on a primitive level?

Edit: Ignore. I missed trpnmokey41's post pointed out again by MinaMACMan.

In the mac store and at home on my iMac
There is already a very early level of Multi Touch in all new Apple Notebooks. You know, two finger scrolling?

I think that they will incorprate some features of Multi Thouch into the trackpads.

Apple just seemed way too proud of it to keep it just on the iPhone. I'd be real surprised if it wasnt on the new macbook pros.

Well, first was the iPhone...next will be on regular iPods..on macbooks? I'm not sure. We all get all freaked out with dust/finger prints on our screen, how would we think about a multitouch laptop?

Who would be able to use it for a long period? Sometimes even mices sux, imagine working with your entire arm...

I don't know....I wouldn't like a multitouch laptop...

Exactly why this would have to be tablet specific...
Plus the fact that, from a marketing perspective, adding this one feature would completely take away from what a Macbook Pro is. Consumers would undoubtedly see them as Macbook Tablet's, not Pro's anymore. They would need to introduce a new line of notebooks for this technology.

Ok, try and wrap your head around the idea that the trackpad on a mac is limited because it only has one button (two if you count double finger tap). The multitouch technology is not the touchscreen capabilites, it's the software interface. It's the way that the software interprets the gestures that makes up the technology. Take that and implement it into a trackpad for a laptop and you have a trackpad that you can program (through software) to have just about as many commands as you can imagine, much more intuitive user control, and let's not forget that neat scroll trick that the iPhone has and the squeeze gesture etc etc

Understood... but again, for the time being that's still infringing on tablet territory.
