I'm trying to transfer my Music Collection to my MBP over network. Both the Mac and PC have a gigabit(or is it gigabyte, excuse my ignorance) connection and both go through a linksys WRT350N router, and the router detects both as a gigabit connection. File transfer for the first 120mb was extremely fast and as expected and then it hit a wall. It went from being a 30 minute file transfer to what seems would take a few hours to transfer. I'm thinking it would be a firewall issue with the PC, so I tured the firewall off for now, but it didn't help. Is there a port that I need to open within the router or the PC or the mac or all three? I appologize for my ignorance, my networking knowledge is lacking. Any help on this issue is greatly appreciated.

The problem is your router, it may have an issue with bandwidth and could be throttling the transfer between the computers.

You should just connect the two computers directly via Ethernet, it should go much faster. I transferred over 20GB of music in just a few minutes, so you shouldn't face the throttling problem.

Yea, I know what your saying about the connecting the computer directly but I don't have a crossover cable. I have my crimping tool and a lot of cable left over from wiring my parent's house, but it's at my parents house. I'll make the drive tomorrow I guess. Thanks for the reply though.
