Multifunction Recommendation?

I have a Dell 1600N multifunction laser, and I just cannot get the darned thing to work on my OS X machines. Time to start over with something new. I would love to have a flatbed scanner, B&W is fine, and scanning to my OSX machine(s) to TIF or PDF would be ideal. Ethernet and laser printers only.

I know the Brother and HP multifunctions support OSX, but to what extent? I have seen units in the past that only support OSX on the printing side, and not on scanning.

Thoughts?

I'm looking for more or less the same thing as you. In fact, I specifically DON'T want color because I sometime go for weeks or months without printing, and inkjets are a pain in the neck.

What did you end of getting? And how do you like it?
