I am using a mac book pro and I am trying to add a movie to a powerpoint slide, the problem is when I am asked which application to use, it will not allow me to choose VLC, although I have the folder in Applications. What do I do so that VLC is an option chosen by the computer for video files ??? also when I "right click" on an icon an choose what file to play VLC will only become available when the application is open otherwise it will revert back to quicktime as the default, so how to I then make all video files play in VLC automatically when i click on them after they are downloaded?

okay i downloaded the video from Youtube but it isn't downloading as a movie file.. like a quicktime file or VLC file but just a file then when i drag it into VLC it works, but I need to use it inside of powerpoint and it isn't being recognized as a video file though, in my opinion ?..a bit unsure actually. I think that is the problem.. but i downloaded the file you suggested and when i encode it doesn;t do much of anything , but i am probably doing it improperly or something? how would i convert the file into a quicktime or VLC file so that I can play it inside of powerpoint??

thanks-
