Mouse sensitivity

So, I tried using an USB mouse on my macbook last night. But even with the sensitivity maxed out in the keys and mouse prefs I still had to move the mouse about 10~15cm to move the cursor across the whole screen which isn't even big. I'm a lazy person who prefers not move the mouse so much so I'd appreciate it if anyone knows how to increase the sensitivity. Thanks.
