I just noticed at the bottom of the page that it shows the date and time that the most users were on the boards at one time.

Most users ever online was 4,633, 12-20-2004 at 03:12 AM.

I think it would be kinda cool to see if we could break that record. It sounds pretty far-fetched, but I think we could pull it off..

Whatcha think?

i'm assuming the vast majority of those 4,633 "users" were bots.

That may be true, but it's 2am almost and I'm tired lol.. Even still, it would be fun to try.

We should arrange for something to happen.

What I think would me a more just number (we can't control the number of bots or send them our way, know what I mean?) is the members online number. Like the other night before I went to bed I was floored to see there was close to 70 members online at the same time.

I've never been to a forum with that many members online at once.

Scratch that, I had a short stint at MacOSX forums and there usually was a lot of members online at the same time back then.

I think that we could take a vote or a poll or something, and find out what time is best for people. I typically work 3-11pm EST (-5 GMT), and I'm up usually till 2-3am anyways. I'm always on the boards, I have a tab opened all the time in Safari.

So if we could work around that, I think we could get something going. Let's bring M-F to a new height!

That is a good idea.. you should setup a thread/poll asking what time is best for people to be on MF for a "meeting". after you find a good time maybe you could do a thread/poll for a good day of the week.. after that set a time and date and lets get ton of people on.. sounds fun to me.

I'm game for it.

What's a bot (a fake person like on-line games?) If so, what are they doin' on here?

KoDorSean, new avatar, very nice. Maybe I'm behind times, but I just noticed it today. Forgive me if it was changed way back.

Carol, bots are some call webcrawlers, like google that index webpages.

Bots could also be spambots, looking where they can post unappetizing spam like for instance in a blog's comments or roaming around to harvest email addies.

Darn! Sounds scary, like being infiltrated by invisible space aliens or something!

I knew I could feel someone watching me! :D
