More RAM

Hi, not sure if this is the right forum but my question relates to RAM.
I am looking to upgrade the RAM in my Macbook 13" OSX Leopard. I did a scan to see what I might need and the scan showed that I can upgrade to 2GB. That being 2x1GB cards. The price they gave on the CrucialScan site was US$41 for the 2x1GB cards.
On the Apple site the exact same thing would cost US$200
Why is there such a difference price wise?

I know its a bit silly, but its a well known fact that RAM from the apple store has always been vastly overpriced, even if you factor in fitting.

No way I am giving apple $100 for a 1 gb chip.

Installed myself in my imac, and the RAM is working fine. Apple should be ashamed of themselves for gouging customers that do not know any better. Nothing wrong with them selling and making a profit, but $100? It should be illegal.

Thank you all for your replies! I am new to mac so no, I didn't understand about the rip off prices they charge for the RAM. I will check out the links you gave me.

Kingston brand RAM works well, good quality. Use Crucial MacScanner app on your Macbook to ensure that you buy the right RAM speed. I think your MB uses 5300 type.

How hard is it to install the memory yourself? I have a PB G4 with only 1GB of RAM and definitely need more. My applecare plan ran out and I definitely can't afford Apple's prices.

You can probably run a google search on how to install RAM on your Power Book.
