The problem was that when I clicked on the notification in High Sierra to upgrade to Mojave it took me directly to the screen that said I needed a firmware update. But, without the "Helper Tool" the firmware did not update. However, when I went to the App Store and clicked on the Open Mojave icon I did get the screen that said it needed to install the tool and needed my admin login to proceed. I then got the screen to update the firmware and this time it applied the update and proceeded with the Mojave installation. Also it seems to be working fine with my older Radeon RX 480 card which is not on Apple's list but does have Metal support. At this early stage I'm not sure I see any performance improvement over High Sierra.</p></blockquote><p></p>
