mid-2012 Playable games?

I'm sure this has been asked all over, but google just gives me a bunch of "Buy a PC" trolls...

Specs:
mid 2012 Macbook Pro
2.3ghz i7
16gb
512gb SSD

Anyone know any decent 3D games that will run well? Really into racing style games but open to whatever! Not really a gamer, but would like something to play on occassion.

Take a look at this list, if the link doesn't post I'll put what to google. Does the MBP have dedicated GPU or just shared GPU? Might be hard to find something that'll run well if it's shared:

Dedicated GeForce GT 650M with 512MB. Onboard is Intel 4000 with 1536MB.

The link you posted seems to be for 2020 machines. Keep in mind, my machine is a pretty well maxed out mid 2012 machine.

But they give ratings for the playability on older Macs, as far back as a 2013 MBP. If that machine has a decent FPS it should be OK on yours, unless there's something that makes 2013 MBP's significantly more powerful than 2012's. For example, "Dirt Rally" ran at 29.3FPS on their 2013 MBP. On their reviews drop down the menu that says "Expand to see if your Mac can run it". "Road Redemption" ran at 27.1, and "Race the Sun" is a very undemanding game that will max out at 60fps so your 2012 should easily run that. The others that are under 30fps might be a risk, I'd look for ones that have a free demo.
